The more beautiful world our hearts know is possible

Here’s a great start to setting our common compass…

Telling the story of us and our #senseof interbeing with Gregory Bateson. Nora Bateson shares her father’s ideas and those who came in contact with him. Worth watching the entire documentary.

I love how this synchronicity keeps unfurling even after being together in Esalen…

Thomas posted a photo of a quote from Wendell Berry in our FB group. Jermery then shared this video, “Look and See” by Laura Dunn, and mentioned how Wendell Berry is a gift. I opened the video, hit play and in the opening titles a very special gift showed up… “A Two Birds Film” LOL, well hello there #2birds!

“Look and See” by Laura Dunn

I logged into Vimeo to watch the film, which is stunning and is about our #senseof place in the world. I recommend viewing this and the other films from Laura Dunn.

“Walden Pond” by Manfred Waffender

This was filmed for a project by Manfred Waffender called PLACES_IN_TIME about slowing down to tune into our #senseof place and being totally present in it.

Funny this happened as I wanted to bring in Manfred’s work for MBW24 with his projects and sensibilities for threading this idea of a #senseof place and beauty around the planet. Maybe we could reignite the original concept of PLACES_IN_TIME with people around the world participating by uploading their 1 minute videos leading up to MBW24… or maybe even links to fixed live-streaming cameras in beautiful spots… something like

PS it was with Manfred while filming “CyberCity San Francisco” we had the experience of the video that was impossible to capture while filming…

We should all take a close look at this project as it holds many of the same ideas being discussed for MBW24’s big picture concepts. It might be a good idea to reach out to whoever is behind the organization to learn and maybe integrate with them…

@justinbrown actually called this to my attention. Interesting as it has a parallel path as Ideapod I somehow see.

The Long Now Foundation:

This is a project Stewart Brand started which aside from the relative aspects of the new story @paulhowardmiller will find interesting for his concept of his book… 500 years.

Here is Charles Eisenstein’s website with his podcasts, books and coming events.

Based in Berkeley may be a great resource for the new story MBW24 project…

Spherical is an integrative research and design strategy studio based in Oakland, California.

We research and develop tools and techniques for regenerating the health and integrity of Earth’s living systems.

We’re currently running labs exploring new ways of perceiving Gaian Systems.

To demonstrate this potential, we’re also mapping documentaries of regenerative projects around the world.

I met Ben Roberts in the Findhorn New Story Hub series 2. He has been integrating virtual gatherings and may be interested in MBW24 and the time leading up to then…

Active Hope by Joanna Macy and Chris Johnstone

Active Hope is about finding, and offering, our best response to the crisis of sustainability unfolding in our world. It offers tools that help us face the mess we’re in, as well as find and play our role in the collective transition, or Great Turning , to a life-sustaining society.

At the heart of this book is the idea that Active Hope is something we do rather than have. It involves being clear what we hope for and then playing our role in the process of bringing that about. The journey of finding, and offering, our unique contribution to the Great Turning helps us to discover new strengths, open to a wider network of allies and experience a deepening of our aliveness. When our responses are guided by the intention to act for the healing of our world, the mess we’re in not only becomes easier to face, our lives also become more meaningful and satisfying.
